Frequently Asked Questions
What are Insoles?
Insoles, also called orthotics, are shoe inserts that help re-align the foot in its natural position during walking/running. Insoles promote better foot function and work to reduce abnormal stresses and pressure on the body, leading to increased comfort and elimination of pains associated with the way one walks.
Who needs insoles?
Insoles are needed when a person's foot posture needs to be improved, especially when this is contributing to pains in the feet, legs, knees, and back. Whilst 'flat-feet' (overpronation) is one of the most common reasons why insoles are fitted, other conditions exist. The insoles would work to support the foot in its natural position to correct the root cause of the symptoms.
Which conditions can be treated?
There are several conditions that can be treated with insoles, however, the most common ones are: Plantar fasciitis, Ankle pain, Arch pain, Shin splints, Knee pain, Achilles tendinitis, and Lower back pain.
Will the insoles be custom made?
We offer both semi-custom, and fully customised insoles. We have a range of pre-fabricated semi-custom insoles where the most appropriate one is chosen, and can be altered according to what is needed. On the other hand, the fully custom insoles are manufactured from scratch after taking an impression of each foot. In this case, we would have the facility of choosing the material, thickness, cushioning, accommodations, and even colour.
Why The Insole Hub?
At The Insole Hub, we strive to understand what is causing the symptoms and resolve them. We use a series of physical biomechanical tests combined with computerised foot pressure analysis to learn about your feet and walking patterns. This enables us to offer you the best treatment plan, and the right insoles.
